Art and the artist

Interest towards architectural landscape is a very integral part of Geogian art. Images of Old Tbilisi bring probably the most important on the creation of Georgian artists.

Even though the subject became traditional for the masters of Georgian Art, each artist tries to express a part of himself within his creations, bringing each and every one of them a sense of his own individuality.

The artist inspects his objects and landmarks of inspiration from every possible angle and aspect; sometimes he can view them up close and far away at the same time, thus melding the differences between generalised view and the view every little detail, paying each the same undivided attention.

Sometimes, when looking at the artist’s creations, one might realise that such colours and their combinations do not exist in the real world. However, since these colours exist in the imagination of the artist, then they must exist in nature itself, but are simply unnoticeable to the untrained eye.

The different distribution of light on the artist’s work makes it possible to pay attention to the whole and leave out the details. The power of feeling, form and expression proved to be a mirror image of the temperament of the artist, and the possibilities of light and colour.

The artist feels the modern age. The motive – man and his time – finds its own image in the creations of the artist.
